SAIC Software Engineer interview experience

Huntsville, ALPosted Jun 2019 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I had a very easy interview experience for a Software Engineer role that felt more like a low-stakes conversation than a strict technical evaluation, and neither path resulted in an offer.

Informal chat (minimal/no technical questions) — one interviewer seemed unprepared to run a formal process and we mainly discussed my experience, with vague questions from a later manager discussion.
Conversation-focused interview for a less experienced candidate — when I didn’t have much technical depth early on, the interviewer still engaged me in a dialogue and seemed willing to consider my potential. Outcome: No offer; the interview style prioritized interpersonal fit and willingness rather than technical rigor.
