Instacart Software Engineer interview experience

I used an online code editor during the coding parts, and it already had test cases baked in to validate what I wrote as I went. For the design round, I worked on a collaborative online whiteboard. There was also a more casual interview that was mostly a conversation.

Overall it felt straightforward and lighter than I expected for Instacart. I ended up getting an offer, and the process didn’t feel chaotic or overly adversarial—just a normal sequence of checks where the format was consistent across rounds.
