I went through an interview path that felt lighter on complexity but dragged out in communication and scheduling.

Intro / personality screen — A brief screen focused on general fit.
Assessment — An evaluation framed as creating a small piece of freeware, expected to take roughly 10+ hours.
Recruiter engagement — Communication was slow, sometimes with days between messages.
Phone screen and team chat — Another version included a short HR phone screen, then a brief team discussion with technical concepts. Outcome: No offer; even when the steps were straightforward, delays and slow responsiveness made the process frustrating.
