I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with a long, multi-round sequence that included take-homes and repeated team interviews, and it ended with no offer.

Recruiter screen — I started with a first call with the recruiter.
Take-home assignment — I completed a written technical task.
Code review / take-home actioning (zoom) — I then did a code review take-home and applied changes live on a scheduled call.
Multiple rounds with different people — I went through many additional interviews (including panel-style behavioral/technical mixes), stretching for weeks.
Extra rounds after delay / misalignment — in at least one experience, I saw additional hiring manager/team interviews happen even when the role was no longer
