Vancouver, WAPosted Aug 2016 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a contractor Software Engineer role in a process that lacked a true technical interview, and the team fit didn’t align with the language requirements.

Application + phone call scheduling — I applied online for a role that referenced multiple languages including C+, and then got a call to set up interviews.
Interview with limited technical coverage — I asked about the C+ requirement, but the outcome suggested the development team didn’t actually do programming as expected. Outcome: I did not receive an offer; the takeaway was to verify role reality and technical expectations early.
