Austin, TXPosted Nov 2016 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Software Engineer position with an early focus on my interests and technical growth, moving from phone to an in-person technical conversation.

Initial recruiter/interest conversation — We discussed my availability and interests, plus a quick look at my technical background.
Phone interview with the hiring manager — I focused on my technical experience and especially my motivation to keep learning.
In-person interview (mostly technical) — The conversation stayed technical with minimal small talk. Outcome: I did not move to an offer in this account; the takeaway was that my learning mindset and technical alignment mattered more than personality games.
