I experienced a multi-round onsite that was overall simple, but the follow-ups felt arbitrary and I got a strong sense of limited hiring.

Onsite: 3 rounds (design / API implementation / hiring manager) — Three in-person (onsite) style interviews covering system/design thinking, then implementing against APIs, and finally a hiring-manager conversation.
Round-by-round dynamic — The main questions weren’t hard, but the interviewer follow-ups leaned on niche low-level concepts that don’t seem common in real work. Outcome: I didn’t move forward; despite passable core questions, the “arbitrary” follow-ups and the vibe made me doubt the process.
