Boston, MAPosted May 2018 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I had a strategy-focused director conversation followed by a fairly large take-home systems architecture assignment.

Recruiter screen — A basic call covering resume/interests and exploring opportunities.
Director of engineering interview — A one-on-one video discussion kept at a high level about engineering strategy.
Take-home systems architecture — A substantial architecture assignment that took roughly ~20 hours to code, test, and document; delivering an incorrect solution quickly could be done, but thorough work was the intent. Outcome: I didn’t get the offer; the process centered on long-form architecture work after a mostly strategy interview.
