Allscripts Software Engineer interview experience

No offer

Negative

United StatesPosted May 2014 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I experienced a shorter, two-stage journey focused on general CS fundamentals first, then more role-specific language and problem solving, with no offer at the end.

Phone interview — mostly broad “shotgun” questions about general computer science.
Panel / group discussion on video (Google Hangouts) — more language-specific questions plus at least one programming question.
Phone screen (alternate scheduling confusion case) — resume review and behavioral STAR-style questions; I was initially told I’d interview for the wrong position before being switched to Software Engineer. Outcome: I didn’t move forward, and the overall takeaway was that I needed to be sharper going from general CS into the concrete language and coding portion.
