Allscripts Software Engineer interview experience

Negative

Raleigh, NCPosted Jun 2010 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I had a mixed onsite experience: the interview started with very positive signals from the hiring manager, then became awkwardly tense with one senior VP, and ended with me being deprioritized.

Onsite: hiring manager + co-workers — face-to-face interviews with multiple people; the hiring manager gave strong positive feedback as I left.
Second interview request — I was asked to return to meet the boss and a peer.
Senior VP interview (late + dismissive tone) — the senior VP was late and spent much of the interaction belittling my background.
Peer VP interview (positive) — the peer VP was comparatively encouraging. Outcome: No offer; takeaway: team fit and interviewer demeanor could swing the outcome dramatically.
