What the process looks like, and what Tessian is really testing for.
You can expect a fairly structured interview flow with an early recruiter screen, then coding and technical assessments, then a mix of technical and fit conversations that include communication and collaboration. Across candidate reports, the process is often described as organized, consistent, and well communicated, with clear handoffs between steps.
What the loop actually tests is heavily weighted toward Python and software engineering fundamentals, plus system design. The topic set shows very high prominence for Python and for system design, and strong coverage for data structures and algorithms, problem solving, and communication skills, with time management and cultural fit also showing up.
After the technical steps, you should expect additional conversations focused on how you work with others and how you think through problems in real time, including a code pair interview and behavioral or conversational interviews. Reported end to end timelines include about four weeks for one candidate, while others describe the loop as expanding beyond an initially expected number of rounds, and multiple reports highlight the importance of getting clear follow up and closure.
A HackerRank-style Python coding challenge is a frequent gate, and at least some candidates also face system design in a HackerRank format, so you should prepare for both algorithmic reasoning and a structured way to explain design tradeoffs, not just coding.

Recruiter Screen
Varies (phone screen format reported)You start with a recruiter discussion about your background and interest, and in some cases an initial phone screen that includes role fit and visa options.
