I interviewed for a Unity Software Engineer role and ultimately got an offer quickly, but the final stage turned out to be unexpectedly disruptive.

Early recruiting + engineering interviews — The process felt manageable and enjoyable, with frequent conversations with engineers and managers.
Offer timeline — I received an offer after roughly 2–3 weeks of interviewing.
Post-offer start-date change — I postponed my start date to January and relied on reassurances from the recruiter. Outcome: I had accepted the offer, but days before my start, the hiring manager contacted me urgently and it became clear the arrangement wasn’t going to hold as expected.
