I went through two video interviews after a recruiter initiated things: one with the hiring department and another with who would be my direct boss.

After that, I was sent a programming test, and then I basically heard nothing back for a long stretch. When I finally followed up by email after three weeks asking for an update, the silence continued.

Late in the process, I was told on a Friday that I’d be taking part in what would be the last step. Then on Monday I got a very different update: hiring for the position had stopped. I was offered a call to talk about it or discuss other possibilities, but that never happened. Months passed with no meaningful follow-up, and during that time the role was published again.
