I went through the early stages and ended up with a Skype conversation with two engineers.

It was framed as a technical discussion, and after that I was invited to the office. The onsite experience started in a promising way—I was told I was coming in—but shortly after, the message changed abruptly.

I was told they were sorry and that they had offered the position, without any meaningful reason given. It felt like a complete waste of time after already investing effort into the earlier steps.

Reflecting on it, the most surprising thing wasn’t the competition—it was the lack of closure and how abruptly the process ended.
