I went into the process knowing it would be more of a conversation than a grilling.

I met with the professor and other lab members, and it turned into an informational-style chat where we discussed their research and my background.

Everyone I spoke to felt genuinely nice and easy to talk with. The most enjoyable part was that the discussion stayed real and specific, not vague or scripted, and I left feeling like I could actually see what I’d be working on. I ended up joining the lab, and honestly, it matched the tone of how I felt during the conversations—comfortable and respected.
