My interview felt straightforward but also surprisingly personalized.

After I connected with the process, I ended up talking about who I was as a person, what experience I actually wanted to gain through a work-study program, and the kinds of projects I was interested in.

Some of the labs expected a certain level of technical expertise because of what they were actively working on, but the overall tone was about fit and growth. I remember the discussion turning into how the program could help build my career, not just whether I could do the work right away. It left me with a clear sense of where my interests matched what they were trying to support.
