During my phone screening, I got scheduled for an interview with the hiring manager, but it didn’t feel properly coordinated.

The setup happened without the hiring manager’s approval, and that led to a bigger awkwardness—my impression was that an internal candidate might already have been the primary plan, and external applicants were still being run through the motions.

The main thing this caused was wasted time for everyone involved. I didn’t get an offer, and even though the friction was mostly logistical, it left a sour feeling about how seriously the process was being handled.

Overall, the interview wasn’t just unsuccessful—it felt inefficient in a way that made the whole thing hard to take seriously.
