Irvine, CAPosted Jan 2024 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

Two interviewers took turns asking questions back-to-back, and the tone felt competitive.

They tried to emphasize how their knowledge was beyond mine, and they asked questions that were outside my resume, even when I didn’t have experience in that area. The questions weren’t even closely related to the protection engineering role.

The difficulty came from the feeling that the interviewer expectations weren’t aligned with my background, and the mismatch made it harder to answer confidently. I didn’t receive an offer, and the experience left me frustrated because the questioning felt more like proving superiority than evaluating fit.
