My first technical step was a short but very focused assessment with a sequence of tasks.

It started with five small logical or mathematical problems, then moved into five simpler algorithmic programming tasks.

Everything was done on paper, and the discussion afterward made it clear they were more interested in how I reasoned than in how I implemented. When I talked through my thinking, the interviewers seemed to care about the approach and correctness of the logic rather than fancy tooling.

It felt straightforward and manageable during the session, but the process didn’t lead to an offer. I left feeling like my thought process was the main signal they were testing.
