San Diego, CAPosted Apr 2020 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I had an easy, relationship-forward interview cycle for a Software Engineer role where the process included a panel and a deliberate post-panel check-in, and I didn’t receive an offer.

Recruiter call + hiring manager call — I discussed fit and background through a recruiter touchpoint followed by a call with the hiring manager.
In-person panel interview — I met a panel including the hiring manager, an interview coordinator, and several team members; the questions centered on my experience and how I’d integrate.
Immediate 1:1 after the panel — the hiring manager did a quick follow-up to address any concerns and ensure I understood responsibilities. Outcome: No offer; the standout was the extra effort to make sure I felt good and informed.
