I started with a brief call with a recruiter who came across as genuinely nice.

She sent me a take-home case study that asked me to forecast how a specific equity would perform two quarters into the future. I had to submit both a model and a two-page research report.

The case was interesting, and I spent a lot of time on it. They didn’t provide any data, so I was free to use public data and build the model based on whatever approach I chose. I felt like I turned in something I’d be proud of, but I never heard back after submitting.

Over the next month I followed up with the recruiter a few times, and I never got any indication that a hiring manager had reviewed it. No
