I interviewed for a Software Engineer role and the experience felt messy because critical steps weren’t set up correctly.

Recruiter screening — a standard initial discussion about experience.
Panel interview with rescheduling — interviewers were late and had forgotten to issue a required take-home assessment, so the interview was postponed.
Take-home assessment — I completed a build exercise intended for Boomi, even though it was branded as Peloton’s test.
Follow-up interview — I sensed they had different expectations than what the assignment instructed.
Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer; the takeaway was that the test logistics and objective mismatch undermined trust.
