I interviewed for a Software Engineer role where the technical expectations were fairly high, and the experience felt stressful or disorganized at times.

Phone/HR step — I began with a basic screen.
Hiring-manager technical start — in one case, the hiring manager jumped into questions without introductions, which made the tone feel tense.
Additional technical evaluation(s) — I also encountered multi-interview formats that included coding and team-level assessment.
Outcome: I didn’t get an offer; I left feeling the difficulty was meaningful and the atmosphere didn’t help me perform as well as I could.
