I met with two people in the lab, and the tone was simple and focused.

They asked me to introduce myself, talk about my work habits, and explain how much time I could realistically commit. The questions made it feel like they were checking day-to-day compatibility more than testing technical depth.

In a separate part of that same kind of early-screen experience, the questions followed a common pattern: I was asked to describe myself with quick descriptors. It was the kind of opening that made the interview feel informal and easy to start, especially because it didn’t feel like they were trying to trip me up.
