I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with only a single in-person, get-to-know-you style conversation, and it felt simple and personal.

Onsite: team leader / facility walk — One round where I met the team leader in person, discussed personal background and resume, and even did a walk around the facility; the technical depth felt light compared to the interpersonal focus. Outcome: I didn’t move forward in one case and did receive an offer in another; the takeaway was that personable fit and your story mattered as much as technical details.
