Leonardo DRS Software Engineer interview experience

I was asked to explain the components of a super heterodyne receiver, including how the design works and how it changes across variants.

They let me lean on whatever specific frequency ranges I knew, so the conversation became a blend of explanation and reasoning. It felt like a deep conceptual check rather than a quick fact test. The question pushed me to structure my understanding clearly, and I could tell they were assessing whether I really grasped the building blocks and their role in the overall receiver behavior.
