San Diego, CAPosted Dec 2024 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

The first step immediately set the tone: I had to do a recorded video interview where I was talking to the camera, answering prompts without any live interaction.

It was nerve-racking, and I found it especially draining because it didn’t feel geared toward people who get anxious in front of a camera.

After the recorded part was reviewed, I moved into a more traditional conversation with the hiring manager. If they liked what they saw, the process continued to a final panel interview where the decision came after those conversations.

That early one-way format was the hardest part for me—complicated and highly performative—and it left me wishing the process came with clearer guidelines or more practice opportunities.
