I interviewed for Software Engineer with a more difficult online test and a disappointing compensation experience.

Two phone interviews + long commute — I had two phone interviews and then traveled to do an in-person interview that required a lengthy drive.
Online test — I took an online test that was more involved and difficult than expected.
Offer negotiation issue — I received a low offer amount and they refused to negotiate. Outcome: I didn’t accept the offer; the takeaway is that technical hurdles plus non-negotiable compensation can make the final stage hard to justify.
