My path into the process was very connections-driven.

I knew someone who helped me land the interview, and from the start I got the sense they didn’t recruit through the most traditional channels the way some other firms do.

The initial phone interview was very basic, and it didn’t feel like it was trying to go deep technically. The overall experience made it clear that having a referral or internal help mattered a lot.

I didn’t receive an offer. Looking back, the biggest surprise was how much the process depended on relationships more than formal recruiting pipelines.
