GitHub Software Engineer interview experience

No offer

Negative

SydneyPosted Jan 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I experienced professionalism from the technical side, but the recruiter communication was the major pain point—either aggressive or unresponsive—and the process ended without an offer.

Recruiter screen + coordination — I had recruiter involvement early on.
Ongoing interview cycle with little accountability — Even when the interviewers were courteous, I had to chase updates multiple times.
No closure when I wasn’t selected — I received no meaningful rejection messaging or feedback, which left the experience feeling negative.
Outcome: I didn’t get an offer; the takeaway is that recruiter responsiveness strongly shapes the overall impression at GitHub.
