I interviewed for a Software Engineer role at GitHub and experienced a black-box style process where I passed or progressed but still didn’t understand what failed.

Technical screener via pull request — I completed a coding task that involved writing tests and submitting a detailed pull request.
Follow-up without actionable feedback — I was told my code didn’t pass, but the recruiter couldn’t explain why, and no feedback was provided.
Reapply offer — I was invited to reapply later, though I had no clear way to adjust. Outcome: No offer; the take-home/PR approach was appealing, but the lack of feedback made improvement impossible.
