I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with an HR screen and a short hiring manager meeting that didn’t really assess my fit.

HR video screen — A video call focused on background and the role.
Hiring manager interview — A brief half-hour conversation where I felt the interviewer didn’t probe my capabilities, experience alignment, or career goals; it felt scripted and I didn’t get enough time to describe my skills. Outcome: I wasn’t moved forward; I left feeling the hiring manager interview wasn’t well-designed for assessing fit.
