EXL Service Software Engineer interview experience

The interviewer came across as experienced and the flow of questions felt smooth and clear, with a real focus on my reasoning.

We covered Python coding questions and also talked through data pipelines. A big part of the discussion was around RAG-style system design, so I ended up explaining how I’d structure a retrieval-augmented architecture and think about the moving parts. The overall difficulty felt average, and the interview ended with a positive impression of how the discussion was conducted, even though I didn’t end up with an offer.
