EXL Service Software Engineer interview experience

I was given puzzles to work through rather than doing classic DSA practice, and I remember being asked about a three-bulb puzzle as well as a knight slave puzzle.

They also spent time going deep on the project I described, so the conversation stayed tied to how I had built and reasoned through my own work. What surprised me was that there weren’t any DSA questions in that interview, which made the format feel more like applied problem-solving and explanation than pure algorithm drills.

Overall it didn’t feel too difficult, and I left feeling like I could handle the problem types they chose.
