I went through an interview path that mixed experience-fit with hands-on technical discussion, staying at an average difficulty level.

Recruiter screen / intro round — I discussed my experience in depth, including how and why I approached things the way I did.
Architect interviews — I sat with two architects and continued focusing on my prior work and decision-making; in one version of this journey, the process also included a coding game and live work on a small algorithm, plus questions on clean code, SOLID, and Agile. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer, and the difficulty felt like a standard, competency-checking process.
