I interviewed for a crypto-focused role and the coding challenge felt like an unrealistic, needle-in-a-haystack test.

Coding challenge (pre-interview) — Before the interview, I checked prior feedback and saw negative reviews; after doing the challenge myself, I agreed with the concerns.
Fit with expectations — The exercise felt like it was looking for an unusually specific outcome in a short time window rather than evaluating typical engineering skills. Outcome: I wasn’t selected; the challenge and its implied intent strongly suggested poor alignment with how candidates actually develop solutions.
