My first interview was a 30-minute call with a front-end developer who was genuinely nice.

We started by briefly discussing a project I’d worked on and what I would have changed.

Then they gave me a code snippet and asked me to implement a couple of functions. The format felt straightforward and lighter in tone than some more intense technical interviews.

I didn’t get an offer. Even so, the short, friendly structure made it an easy conversation to follow compared to harsher interview styles I’ve experienced.
