I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with a fairly standard early flow, but the logistics around the assessment felt inconsistent.

Recruiter screen — A 30-minute call covered my background and a few technical topics.
Time-sensitive technical assessment (delayed delivery vs long window) — I was told the assessment was urgent and should be completed quickly, but it arrived four days late while still offering a 14-day submission window. I finished quickly, then the recruiter reached out again asking if I had completed it, which didn’t match the earlier messaging. Outcome: No offer; the core interview wasn’t described as overly hard, but communication and workflow timing raised concerns.
