I went through several screening-style calls that felt like they went really well, and that kept the momentum going to the next stage.

The process then moved immediately to the manager for the role, which ended up being the more challenging moment. It didn’t feel like a balanced conversation—he talked much more than I did, and that made it harder for me to fully showcase my side.

Overall, the journey wasn’t a total struggle, but that manager step changed the feel of the process for me. I left with the impression that it wasn’t the best format for evaluating fit.
