I started with a recruiter call where the conversation focused heavily on the basics—my background and what I was looking for, including compensation expectations.

After that, I had a single conversation with the hiring manager. It felt pretty direct and conversational, and we wrapped up with both sides seeming aligned on fit.

I left feeling like the process was straightforward, and it didn’t feel like there were any surprise technical hurdles. Even though the discussion went well, I ended up not continuing because the base salary was outside my budget range. Overall it was a good chat, just not a match financially.
