Worley Software Engineer interview experience

My interview started with a phone round and then moved into an in-person technical discussion.

A lot of the questions came from a hiring manager who wasn’t described as technical, and it felt like they were actively trying to scout for whether I could answer. That made the experience confusing because I was left wondering whether the interviewer really knew what the “right” answers were.

Despite the uncertainty, I went through the full sequence—phone first, then in person—and it still ended with an offer. The whole thing had a slightly awkward edge because the technical questions didn’t feel guided by someone who was grounded in the depth of the subject matter.
