My process started with a recruiter call where we discussed the role and my salary expectations.

Next I had a hiring manager call that focused on my general experience and which language or tools I’d used in a prior role.

Then I took a HackerRank test using Python and bash. The role focus was Dbaas, and the test seemed aimed more at automation capabilities than pure coding-for-coding’s-sake.

Overall it felt average in difficulty, and I didn’t get an offer. The clearest thread throughout was that they were checking whether I could combine scripting-style work with practical automation needs.
