My first call started off awkwardly.

The HR conversation ran over 10 minutes late, and when we finally connected it didn’t feel like there was much interest in my experience at all.

The questions were minimal, and the whole interaction felt strange—especially because my camera status was off. The tone was so out of step that it made the call feel less like an introduction and more like a perfunctory check.

I didn’t move forward from there. The reflection I took away was that the initial touchpoint set a negative tone for me, and it made the process feel disconnected from what I thought I was applying for.
