My early screening experience at Vertafore felt dominated by cognitive and personality-style assessments, with repeated steps that didn’t seem connected to the actual job.

I was asked to take IQ/personality quizzes online, and then I had to take the same style of assessment again while someone watched via webcam to verify it was really me. It was uncomfortable and, to me, largely pointless because it didn’t lead to any meaningful technical conversation.

Across multiple rounds, I ended up doing a mix of aptitude work and behavioral questions, sometimes with the recruiter promising feedback or a next step that never came. There were stretches where I didn’t hear anything after interviews, and when I followed up, the communication either went silent or came back
