I experienced a more demanding, hands-on onsite where build tooling and project execution mattered, and it ultimately felt difficult and stressful.

Phone interview — Mostly C++ and Java-adjacent technical questions, plus general concepts.
Onsite (project/code build) — I was given URLs and questions and had to build a Java project in an IDE; I was expected to use a dependency/build tool (like Gradle) and time ran out while wiring libraries.
Additional technical round — Lighter algorithm content mixed with more knowledge-based questions.
Outcome: I didn’t get an offer and my main takeaway was to show up with the right tooling knowledge ready, because the onsite execution time is tight.
