Veritas Technologies Software Engineer interview experience

Negative

PunePosted Oct 2015 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I had a highly variable, difficult-feeling experience where the first interview started with unusual subject choices and some uncomfortable testing on language preference.

Aptitude + first technical interview — The aptitude and initial coding question felt easy, but the technical interview began with topics like B+ trees, then moved into linked-list intersection-style problems.
Debugging / language discomfort — I was asked about debugger behavior in g++/gcc, and the interviewers seemed notably uneasy with Python, which made the experience feel luck-dependent. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer, and the takeaway was that you should be ready to pivot across data-structure topics and also handle practical tooling/debugging questions.
