I got a cold reach-out from a recruiter, then did a screen with them and later a screen with the hiring manager.

A distinctive detail was that they used AI to transcribe the conversation, and it made me feel like they were treating the interview more as a way to collect proprietary information than as a typical back-and-forth assessment.

The difficulty felt easy compared to the later pipelines I’d seen elsewhere, but the vibe was off for me because of how the transcription was framed and what it implied. I didn’t receive an offer.

The reflection I have is that even an easy interview can feel uncomfortable if it doesn’t feel balanced—if the process seems to optimize for capture rather than evaluation.
