University of Toronto Research Analyst interview experience

No offer

Positive

Toronto, ONPosted Jul 2017 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My interview started with an informal lunch meeting, and it made me feel very comfortable right away.

Because the atmosphere felt conversational, I was able to share my answers naturally instead of trying to sound “interview-ready.”

It took a while by email to hear back, and there was quite a bit of follow-up, but I still received an offer. That contrast stuck with me: the face-to-face part felt easy and relaxed, while the waiting period stretched longer than I expected. Even so, the communication eventually caught up and the final result was positive. Looking back, I appreciated how the lunch format let me come across as myself, and the offer made the extra waiting feel less frustrating.
