University of Pittsburgh Research Analyst interview experience

Got offer

Posted Nov 2012 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My interview centered on the lab itself.

I met with senior members of the lab, and then I gave a presentation about my research. What stood out was that the day wasn’t just Q&A—it also included talking through where I saw my career going and even sharing salary expectations.

After the presentation, I toured the lab and got an overview of the different research projects happening there, plus information about core facilities and the collaborators involved. It felt pretty standard overall, and the structure made it easy to understand how my work would fit into the group—even though there wasn’t any sense of a fast, casual process.
