After I applied online, I ended up on a video call with the hiring team where the conversation centered on a specific project I had worked on.

The questions went beyond just recounting what I’d done; they pushed on how my experience mapped to the job description, and I had to explain the fit in a way that matched what they were hiring for.

What stood out was how I was also able to interact with the lab group during the process. The discussions felt more like genuine conversation than a strict Q&A, and I got to talk with people I would be working alongside. From start to finish, it took about four weeks, and by the end I felt like I’d had a real sense of the environment, not just an evaluation of my background.
